Chloe will receive her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from La Salle University in May 2017. She is pursuing two minor concentrations: Marketing and Leadership & Global Understanding. After that, she will continue at La Salle and receive a Master’s degree in Communication in May 2018. Although Chloe originally chose her major because she was involved in TV production in high school, her focus has shifted to the public relations aspect. She finds PR highly engaging because it requires a mix of skills: writing, pitching ideas, researching markets, and emotional intelligence. Chloe’s long-term goal is to work for a government-funded environmental justice agency.
At La Salle, Chloe holds several leadership roles. She is the Alumni Relations Chair of the Honors Board (the board of students representing the honors program), the Co-President of the Association for Women in Communication, and the Historian of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). She also serves as a representative for the class of 2017 on the Communication Department Student Board. Chloe works as a student manager at the university’s IT help desk; this coming school year will be her first as a resident assistant.
In her spare time, you will find her cooking delicious food, binge-watching Netflix, or snowboarding. Chloe also enjoys traveling, and has visited Germany, India and Nepal. She hopes to travel to Chile this coming spring semester.
Addiction is a growing disease and it touches our lives whether or not we actively realize it. Those with this disease suffer not only from the disease itself but also from the stigma of addiction. As a society, we can choose to support and embrace those with addiction through a better understanding of the disease and its effects on those individuals suffering from it.
